AggieDave 6 #1 December 12, 2007 While trying to find a working copy of Music Studio I stumbled across this and have spent the last 90 minutes playing old favorite games. http://www.virtualapple.org/ Yes Oregon Trail is there, as is Number Muncher and Marble Madness. Unfortunately Music Studio isn't nor is Chuck Yager's flight simulator. I wish I still had my old IIGs. I guess my parents loved me since they bought one for me in 1986 with two 5 1/4 drives and a 3.5 drive plus joystick and memory upgrade. I got the modem for it eventually shortly there after and thus started my life connected to online communities.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." skydiver30960 0 #2 December 12, 2007 We had the IIe with the dual drives and a WHOPPING (gasp) 512k of memory. King's Quest. Loderunner. Print Shop. AppleDraw. A variety of random hacked games that I got from here and there. My first word processor. Ahh.... the memories. Just a year or so ago mom found it up in her attic and said she was gonna chuck it. I really couldn't imagine having any space at all to keep it at my place, so during spring cleaning she put it out on the curb for the garbage men. Wouldn't you know it the whole shebang got picked up by some lucky passer-by snatched it up after less than a half-hour on the curb. End of an era. Amazon 7 #6 December 12, 2007 yup all 5.25... most are OEM but there is also a RANA 800k drive.. and some of the later ones have the 3.5" external as well. I did get rid of the 8" drives that I used to have... The 5 mb Profile is there but I dont have it hooked up to anything.
Shepp 0 #7 December 12, 2007 Quote Logo with the Turtle rocked!!! Logowriter was the first computer 'game' I ever played. It was part of a class in middle school back when the IIe was hot shit. Seeing as how 'fun' it was to me back then, I'm not surprised I ended up a computer programmer Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterward. AggieDave 6 #8 December 13, 2007 The apple III is a bit of a collectors item. I am jealous though, there are many days I wish I still had my IIGs. Things were simpler back then, less viruses, no spyware, a cracker was a criminal hacker and the phreaks owned Nynex (as well as many other baby bells).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
