what the hell is so hard about giving me a kids menu

O.k. I know I am 27, but I hate it when I ask for a kids menu and they tell me '' you have to be 11 or 12 and under'' Maybe I don't want to pay $8 for 6 pieces of chicken when I m not going to eat them all. Maybe I want to pay $4 for 4 pieces of chicken. O.k. done ranting

my wife and i are small portion eaters...we often split a meal. but this does piss off the server, because they think the tip is going to be calculated on the bill amount. being former servers, we tip on service, not amount of the bill.

Yeah, it bugs me that I can't order smaller portions at most restaurants, but I guess they do that so that they can make more money. They don't care if they're dumping most of your food into the trash, as long as you've paid for it.

The portion sizes at most restaurants are nearly a full-day's worth of calories (for me anyway), so I usually try to take at least half home for leftovers.

A lot of places price kid's menus to keep prices down for parents who are ordering a full meal for themself as well. They're not going to make any money if people come in and take up a table but only order water and a kid's meal.

If you eat such a small quantity then pack a lunch or get the full meal and take a doggy bag.

that is annoying! and i understand that packing your lunch or getting a doggy bag isnt exactly feasible with your job.
i just dont get how they plan on regulating something like that. no one has ever given me crap for ordering off the kids menu. how do they know i dont have a kid at home? or with me, but not right next to me?

How many times do you suppose you've consumed the saliva of someone you've never kissed?

I don't generally make a fuss with servers until after I've gotten my food. If frustration boils over before then, I simply leave and go to another restaurant.
