I have a friend who made her 1999th jump on December 31, 1999, and her 2000th jump on January 1, 2000. Damn that must have been awesome. virgin-burner 1 #13 December 7, 2007 just talked to my parents about it today, usually the 24th the family has dinner and presents and stuff. now my brother wants to have the 24th with his wife and the kids. and then the whole family on the 25th. now that completely ruins my plans for heading down to empuria on the 25th. and since my birthday is only a couple of days before the whole stuff, and since my brother NEVER turns up on my b-day, i just say "fuck it!".. his b-day was a month ago, i did call, but havent gone over since. i did get invited for coffee and cake, but refused to go. eye for an eye. i get about two calls from him a year. he lives about 3 miles from me. so, 24th, i'll spend with my parents, then fuck off to spain on the 25th! you gotta set your priorities right, dont ya'!? i'm sorry to say, i love my old people, i love my brother.. but i hate that fucking christmas shit, all of december, even my b-day turns me down.. BillyVance 34 #15 December 7, 2007 I understand somewhat what you're going through. Ours is a little different situation. My wife's parents are divorced, so it's a challenge balancing our time with 3 different families. The mother-in-law has been trying to put a guilt trip on us for not making plans to go to her house in Myrtle Beach for Christmas since her son (my brother-in-law) is going, never mind that we already went there for Labor Day weekend. When you have a little kid, it's sooo much easier to just stay the fuck home and have Christmas there, and if anybody wants to come join us, fine. If not, too bad. Lesson learned from my own mom... For the first few years of my life, we had been going to Louisville to my grandma's house (dad's mom) every Christmas. It was a nightmare just packing all the gifts for the kids (me and my brother) and hauling them all back home afterwards, just because Grandma was set in her ways and demanded Christmas be at her house. Finally my mom put her foot down and blew her off. Boy was grandma pissed. I've gone skydiving at boogies for Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Thanksgiving in the past, but Christmas has always been with family. I suppose when my girl is old enough to understand that Santa Claus isn't real, we can spend Christmas at her grandparents' once in a while. We'll just let her have her Christmas presents the day before we go. At least whatever we can't cram in the family car. Shell666 0 #16 December 7, 2007 Christmas Eve is the same as it has been all my life. Head out to the farm where my baba cooks a traditional Ukrainian Christmas Dinner (12 meatless dishes - provided she doesn't forget one - she IS 95 after all - and a cutie to boot!). Eat, eat, eat. Then get together around the Christmas Tree and open presents. Mmmm ... I can taste it now. Can't WAIT! 'Shell

All of whom are great. Boxing day, as we are in summer here, I will be hosting my 6th annuall Boxing Day BBQ and jam session. usually have a least a dozen guitar players plus other various musicians and hangers on. It's a blast and I don't have to drive home so can get blotto if I wish.Any of you in New Zealand at the time are welcome to come.
