Beerlight 0 #3 December 5, 2007 "Flying" is a good one. I receive AOPA also, both have good. If he's into experimental/homebuilts, get him a membership to Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).

NickDG 23 #8 December 5, 2007 If you're looking for other than the mainstream flying pablum there's the Pacific Flyer here: http://www.pacificflyer.com/ I know the guy who publishes it out of Oceanside, Ca and he employs pilots all over So Cal to deliver it free to all the airports. When the WX is down they've been known to scud run and just push bundles of them out the door. And yearly he does a hell of a sweet swimsuit issue! There is also an East Coast version called the Altantic Flyer (but they aren’t connected to the Pacific one): http://www.aflyer.com/ NickD

Meux 0 #12 December 5, 2007 I like Aviation Week and Space Technology. Lots of pictures, which is good for a guy like me. I can only read for about 20 minutes before my lips get tired. Mo
BillyVance 34 #13 December 5, 2007 I have been getting offers in the mail to join AOPA, and I don't even own a plane, much less have more than an hour of experience flying one (with my brother or his best friend). Has AOPA bought the membership lists from USPA or something? Has AOPA bought the membership lists from USPA or something? Do you have (or have you ever gotten) a FAA medical? That triggered all kinds of AOPA junk mail for me. I refuse to join AOPA soley on the basis that I know that my funds will only be used to harass people with junk mail to join.
