squirrel 0 #28 December 6, 2007 Quote Quote Born and raised in California. No, not Cali. Cali is a little further south on a totally different continent. Let's all say it together, "California". Good, I knew you could. (Just one of my many pet peeves) Oh, thank you. It's one of mine too! ok, my turn. I was born in Sunnyvale, "NORTHERN CALIFRONIA" grew up in Los Altos, last of 8 kids...we were the white trash of the snooty neighborhood. But, all the neighbors came to our house for advice and tools to fix things! Went to Chico state...just yell "Chico" in some bar someday, you might meet some cool grads. Worked at many different things....electrical subconatractor, GPS data base builder, movie set contractor, tour managager, and general contractor. Met a hot skydiver and got married in a skyvan! Learn to fly a trike (weight shift) ultralight. The adventure continues today.... oh, now i live in southern "Cali" ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him? Bummed around doing different things while drinking my way through junior college. (well mostly through anyway) Opened up my own company on a dare. 12 years later, I'm still paying the bills. I get to jump some too. Went out on a date with my fiance 9.5 years ago today. My fiance will graduate in May, and we will be married 5 days later. Two income family beyotches!!! No kids, no dogs, and barely can keep an ivy alive. lol I have never developed indigestion from eating my words. Winston Churchill

Shell666 0 #32 December 7, 2007 Born and raised in Edmonton. Never left. Work at the University of Alberta as a Conference Coordinator (18 years come February 20th!). Been there so long the benefits now outweigh the bullshit and I might as well wait another 12 years for retirement with full pension and benefits! Kidding. I really do enjoy my job. Never married, no kids. 1 big white "cat" and 2 smaller ones that keep me amused. 'Shell

jimmytavino 16 #34 December 7, 2007 I've been "Jimmy" since the day i was born... that was at a hospital in Mount Kisco NY USA.. (45 miles north of NYC ) the summer of 1953Lived in Brewster NY for 19 years..( My Folks and a few siblings are still there,,, and Happy.....M & D in the same brick house which My Father built, in 1951 , and where they have lived, Happily , since their return from the honeymoon, 56 years ago ) Went to college near Rochester NY and blasted out a BS in Anthropology between '71 and '75 also graduated with about 325 skydives...Liked the people with whom i was jumping , in this area and so stayed local to find work.... Found very little work to be had in ANTHRO.so I fell back on carpentry skills and worked for a few years as a trim carpenter, kitchen cabinet and counter top installer, and medical company delivery and all purpose, staff person. Became self employed in 1983 and created The Safety & Access Company Inc... specializing in accessibility equipment and home mods, for folks with limited mobility issues, or inability to climb stairs... I Sell service and install wheelchair vertical lifts ( mini elevators), stair lifts, ceiling mounted patient lifters etc.. I design and build ramps, and install railings, safety bars etc...Almost 25 years now,,, doing this.. I get to "enjoy" everything that comes with "being my own boss"...I am a husband, a father, a Son, a brother, a brother - in -law, an Uncle, a nephew, and a friend.... I've been skydiving for over 60 % of the time i have been on this planet... and IT keeps me happy, and sane and energized.... Haven't moved around much, since settling in Roch, NY 36 years ago,,, But I always felt that I'd change things IF I wasn't happy where i was.... I've been happy so ,, no changes needed.. Our children are now 24 and 22... and doing well. I'd like to work less, play more. and really would like to travel to a number of DZ's near and far.... ..... and I willllll tooo!!!!! sometime soon... To paraphrase grannyinthesky... I too, " have a 20 year old's brain,( wellll maybe a 30 year old's brain) in a 50 year old body" , only MY body has endured about EIGHTY years,,, of wear and tear..... so naturally I hope to "live til I'm a Hundred".....(then i can join "Divers Over a Hundred" ....... DOH !!!!! ) james joseph justin tavino
