About those people who check your Evite daily but don't respond...

Anyone who's sent an invitation using Evite knows that you can see whether someone has actually viewed the Evite. If you come back and view it multiple times, it'll update each day with the most recent date that you viewed it.

I realized this very quickly and also realized that if I'm a guest, it behooves me to make a response quickly, that way I can keep an eye on the guest list without being watched. Even though I might do that, it's not ever cause for me to change my decision; if I commit, I'm only backing out because of some factor beyond my control like illness or flight delay.

But it really makes me wonder about the people who just sit there and check it every day but don't respond. I guess I just don't get it - either you're in or you're not. Commit or don't. Or heck, use that lovely feature that Evite offers for the indecisive and wussy, and reply "Maybe."

Of course, I also hate the way that I can turn hosting a social event into a referendum on my own likability and the considerate or inconsiderate behavior of my friends.

Valinda forwarded her Evite to me and I read that one. I guess she figured I wouldn't get an invitation of my own. We'll both be there. Sounds like fun.
