Jesus, dealerships are bloody rapists!!!

Took my car in for a 30,000 mile service, I just received a call from the dealership quoting me the following:

Power Steering fluid flush $149.00 Not needed
Replace oil pan (apparently it's leaking - I haven't seen a drop of oil on my driveway) - $300.00 If it wasn't leaking before . . .
Manual Transmission flush - $79.00 How many miles? This one might be legit
Carbon Build up on Throttle flush - $310.00 Oh Please! Get some additives for your gas and it will help get rid of it
Replace clutch - $1000.00 Even that could just be a simple adjustment
Valve adjustment and cylinder work - $735.00 have you lost power? If not - the inner workings of the engine are fine
Replace Spark Plugs - $152.00 That is just stupid Get a nice unexpecting freeflier to do that for you next time you go to the DZ. Then drink a beer and watch him work

Okay, so it started off with $199.00 30,000 mile service and now I'm looking at $2900.00 worth of work. WTF - HELL NO!!!!

>:(

Only 30K miles? - most of this should be covered under the warranty, right?

Or is this just a 30k schedule?
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

Any type of FLUSH is probably BS.

If your oil pan is leaking now, I guess they broke it and they shoud fix it for free.

You would know if your clutch was out. And if your clutch is out at 30,000 miles, please see your warranty.

The spark plugs MIGHT be a valid repair.

I get this same shit ALL THE TIME! I would just go pick your car up and say fuck you very much.

Damn, Kitty. :|

I think it would save Joe and I money (because neither of us know shit about cars :S) if we flew you over to Seattle, drove you to the dealership, and had you negotiate the next time we take the Suburban in.

Last time it cost us $1900. -$900 of it was a '70,000 mile service' or some bullshit. :( I know, I'm stupid for having done it, but we just don't know dick about vehicles. [:/]

If your dealership plans or feels the need to do anything to the vehicle other than what was asked to be done, you need to be called first for approval to do the work. If they don't ask you first, it removes your option to get a second opinion and a different price quote.

To me, that sounds like a violation of rights, as well as fraud. You shouldn't need your power steering flushed at 30K miles... new clutch is a maybe... depends on how much you ride it. valve adjustment and cylinder work is totally bogus. At 30K miles, it should be covered under warranty for the valve adjustment and cylinder work anyhow. Spark plugs only cost a few bucks for a full set... you got totally scammed on that one. Manual tranny flush is about as easy as changing oil.

Take their asses to court!!!>:(

Please shave before doing any chocolate wrestling. When someone licks it off you, they won't want to eat hairy chocolate. :D:D:D

I would, but then I'd clog the drain...:D
