A hard chore

Recommended Posts

Every once in a while I pull out this old yellow news paper clipping by Ann Landers it’s a hard chore to live up to but I try.

Dear Ann: This is for the army officer who felt as though he was only person left who cares enough to pick up merchandise left on the floor. Sir, I salute you. I appreciate your efforts. I pick up merchandise, too. I also pick up litter and return the grocery cart to the store. I do not park in spaces for handicapped. I pullover for police, fire trucks and ambulances. I use my turn signal before turn or change lanes. I don’t swear. I say “please.” “Thank you “and “excuse me”. No its not always easy and yes it takes some effort. But when I choose not to yell at a rude sale clerk or cut off a discourteous driver I like who I am. When I act like a j e r k I feel bad. So I try to be my best self. I do not believe that the world will be a better place because I lived in it but by God’s grace I don’t want to make it any worse either.
Nan.
