skymama 37 #27 October 15, 2007 Wow, good job! How close are you to your goal? Is your lifestyle one you'll be ok with sticking to once you reach your goal? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
MrFreefall383 0 #28 October 15, 2007 Good point, make sure it's a sustainable set of habits that will keep that weight off."If at first you don't succeed... well, so much for skydiving." - aviation cliche
hurloon 0 #29 October 15, 2007 I have learned to eat leaner and consume smaller portions less frequently.. for now my goal is 200 lbs and then after that I'd like to aim for between 180 and 190 after weight loss and rebuilding muscle mass. I am confident that I have the hang of it.. I don't binge and I feel comfortable eating many things in moderation but try to avoid the truly unhealthy things unless I know I can work it off (cake, cookies, dining out, etc). I do avoid foods/beverages with MSG and HFCS if at all possible though.
ACMESkydiver 0 #30 October 15, 2007 Quote Hey all.. down to 235 and just wanted to post a pic of my progress for comparison. The pic with my two good friends was taken last year when I weighed around 300.. and don't mind the dirty mirror in the newer one. MrFreefall383 0 #31 October 16, 2007 Well, so much for keeping up my workouts. Must've picked up a cold from the other temp coughing and sneezing less than two feet away from me all day Friday. Normally that wouldn't happen to me, but it did this time. Still worked out yesterday even though I felt like shit, and feel even worse today. No more 5am wakeups until I'm recovered, which basically means a couple more days of doing... not much. Why the fuck did I have to get sick now of all the possible times? This sucks."If at first you don't succeed... well, so much for skydiving." - aviation cliche

Sounds like you're being smart about it though and healing before you try to workout again. That's where I went wrong, dumb ass that I am. Take care~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
tigra 0 #33 October 16, 2007 Still, there are times when a workout makes me feel a million times better. Sometimes its hard to know until the next day when you're like - Oh gee, maybe that wasn't such a good idea.........
MrFreefall383 0 #34 October 16, 2007 Yeah, that's how I felt Monday night. Didn't feel too horrible Monday morning after another 5:30am swim, but my condition just deteriorated steadily throughout the day, and here I am now on Tuesday still feeling like shit. But hopefully tomorrow should be my last full day of recovery, and then it's back to my workouts harder than before to make up for a few days lost."If at first you don't succeed... well, so much for skydiving." - aviation cliche
hurloon 0 #35 November 4, 2007 Had a great workout last night.. 7.5 miles and upper and lower body lifting. I did 3.25 miles over the course of an hour on the treadmill and then 3.25 miles in 1 mile, 10-minute blocks on the elliptical machine interspersed with stretching. pardon the white trash look, it's my day off and I know I need a haircut. the shirt in the upper body shot makes me look huge because it is way too large for me.
