Anybody jump at Skydive Alabama?

Hey...looks like I'll be getting back in to the sport again after a 3 year break...

and Skydive Alabama is the closest bigger DZ to Nashville...

Anybody tell me what it's like, that would be awesome...

King Air (90?) that gets you to altitude pretty quickly. Generally generous on altitude. Cool people who make you feel at home. The DZO is a tandem master, AFF instructor, swooper, and BASE jumper who obviously loves what he does. Very organized for something related to skydiving. Room to pack on the carpet in the hangar. They even know a guy who will come get your main or free bag out of the trees for a nominal fee.

All that said, you should also consider Greene County Sport Parachute Center in Bardstown, KY. We've got a Beaver that you can hang everyone in the plane off of, and a really laid back atmosphere. My wife and I have been adopted like family there, and just have a hard time going anywhere else unless we can take everyone with us. (I shouldn't neglect the 182, we have one of those, too, for days the Beaver can't keep up). Lot of good places to land off if you spot poorly. How close it is depends on which side of Nashville you are on, but we have other Nashvillians that make the trip to Bardstown every weekend.

Oh, and Mullins is going to have the "Super" King Air in Tullahoma, TN the weekend of March 31-April 1. Never miss an opportunity to jump out of it.

SD Alabama is a pretty nice little DZ. They usually take you up to 13,500+ AGL. Decent facility. Jonathan, the DZO is way cool. I may be down that way on Saturday.

That was MAYBE part of the plan, but first there is business that MUST be attended too there first. So I was wanting to know who to say hello to while there visiting.

I've jumped there once and had a great time. Very nice people, great landing area, fast plane, nice facilities.
You can't go wrong.

I jump at either Skydive Alabama or at Skydive the Farm. Both are great places in their own ways. Don't think I will be jumping that Saturday though.
