DShiznit 0 #51 September 2, 2004 Wow - way to put that into perspective. Everyone saying yes doesn't think about what all happens within the 10 years since it hasn't happened yet. Me? Nope. I'm just fine the broke way I am now....

Shotgun 1 #53 September 2, 2004 QuoteEveryone saying yes doesn't think about what all happens within the 10 years Oh, I thought about it... My answer is still yes. And just for clarification, I'm not a very materialistic person. I don't spend any time wishing I had more money or anything like that. I don't think that money would buy happiness... And my answer would be different if I had children or if I was still pretty young. (Well, I'm not that old now, but I am already feeling the effects of excessive mileage ;-) It doesn't really matter though... somehow I doubt that it's a decision I'll ever have to make... Cajundude 0 #54 September 2, 2004 Yes, the welfare of ALL of my family and ALL of their children and ALL their children is more important than me living another 20 or 30 years. I could have one hell of fucking party for 10 years and still have enough for all.
jtval 0 #55 September 2, 2004 ok here's the drama question. what if you family would rather have you around and doesn't give a shit about the money? what if they made that apparent and you still had to decide? what would your answer be then?My photos My Videos

Shotgun 1 #59 September 2, 2004 Quoteok here's the drama question. what if you family would rather have you around and doesn't give a shit about the money? what if they made that apparent and you still had to decide? what would your answer be then? Yeah, that's a good point... I suppose in reality, I wouldn't be able to do that to my family. Even though they might appreciate all of the money I would be leaving them, I seriously doubt they would want it in exchange for my death. (Well, I hope not anyway!) PhillyKev 0 #60 September 2, 2004 Am I guaranteed to live another 10 years? If not, than no. But if it's live 10 years then die, but won't die before 10 years, I'll take the billion and the guaranteed decade. But if I'm guaranteed death in 10 years with no guarantee I'll live that long, forget it.

Eiley 0 #69 September 3, 2004 I was a total no - I'm 35, no kids, but reckon I want a minimum of another 35 year. If I had it, I'd probably pay the $billion to go back to being 25 ("knowing what I know now" ). I wish your poll had, say, age choices, e.g. YES and I'm aged under 20 YES and I'm aged 20-30 NO and I'm aged under 20 etc... nothing to see here

Somehow I think the answers might be different if the choice was real... I was just fantasizing about how many trips to the moon I would be able to buy during those ten years. jumpergirl 0 #72 September 3, 2004 No way... I want to have children and watch them grow up, spend time with them and see them have their children. A few years ago I joined a company as the first engineer, hired the most technically competant and fun team I'd ever worked with, designed a really neat product, and had a great corporate culture relatively free of overhead and ego. Really enjoyed my job, got a lot of meaning from it, and was happy to work 10-16 hours a day as long as I got weekends + 2 10-day vacations off. Now I endure a boring job where I don't care about anything beyond having a paycheck, short commute, and fridge to stick my diet coke in. I don't think, usually don't talk to any one, don't care when my projects get done, and probably woudn't get here most days if I didn't have a wakeup call. If I hadn't found my soul mate I'd be existing not living and would be happy to be done in ten years if not sooner for a lot less . The last fun business burned $750K/month at its peak; * 120 months = $90M. If I couldn't work, continuing to draw my salary until my time was up or I otherwise died would be fine. Having a true love changes things a lot - I wouldn't give that up for $10B.
 jumpwally 0 #74 September 3, 2004 Ok,,who's good at math?
