Heimlich is used when they can't cough anymore.

1)Are you choking? (They probable will be grabbing there throat). Call for help and or dial 911

2) If they are coughing encourage them to continue.

3) Once they stop coughing Heilich until it clears or they pass out.

4) When unconcious check for breathing try to clear obstruction with finger sweep. (I think this is still good but please correct me if I am wrong.)

5) If not breathing rescue breaths and CPR if heart quit.

Heilich saved my life when I was 10, thank god the lady that was watching me knew how to do it! When my mom got home she yelled at me when I spit up strawberry chunks all over her white curtains. She changed her tune when the lady was crying and told her the story.
