Broke 0 #1 June 12, 2006 Greetings it would seem that my FT 50 is innaccurate. It is not grossly innacurate, but it is enough to really fuck up my landing patern. In free fall the amount dosen't really matter, but when I am landing it could be reading 0 and I'll still be a couple of hundred feet in the air. I was wondering if anyone knows where I would have to send this unit to for recalibration?Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. caldwellbuilder 0 #2 June 12, 2006 I just got my FT-50 back from Bryan Moffett in Bastrop, Texas. He is certified by the FAA for altimeter repair. Mine had the screws back out and a jewel bearing fell out. He replaced the bearing, cleaned it and calibrated it. His email is bryan@gravityrats.com and he has an ad in the current Parachutist magazine. Mine came back like new. Will Caldwell D-5598
Broke 0 #3 June 12, 2006 Cool thanks. I don't need to run out of landing room because I am reading 500 feet off.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. Anvil Brother 84 SCR 14192
mark 107 #4 June 12, 2006 Quote I don't need to run out of landing room because I am reading 500 feet off. Are you using your altimeter to tell you when to turn downwind, across the wind, and final? Mark
Broke 0 #5 June 13, 2006 not really. I have been ignoring it because It is not accurate enough. When i as in Z hills I could judge everything just right, but since i have been doing one jump at DZ A and then another at DZ B I haven't ben able to hone in on how to work the landing areas and how they look where I need to be and when.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly.
