ACMESkydiver 0 #1 September 27, 2007 Have a question that's bugging you? Driving you mad? Google is no help? Well help is here! -Maybe.... What the hell are these?! First picture is of a couple of football players. What are those bands they wear above their elbows for? I've seen players with those above and below their elbows, and I've seen a player with that same kind of band below the knee. Are those for some kind of support for the muscle or what? Ok next is a couple of pics of a cement mixer and a dump truck. I was pulling off of the freeway today, and ahead of me was a dump truck. He was slowing down for the light at the end of the off ramp, and he dropped those little wheels down onto the groud! I was like, "Whoa, he has, like, retractable little wheels or something! I wonder what those are for?" So of course I figured I'd ask here... I have another question, but I have to take a picture of my ailing Christmas Cactus to ask it...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Bolas 5 #3 September 27, 2007 The extra axle and wheels are tied to the suspension. When the truck has a heavy load it loads the suspension, tires, and frame more so those extra wheels and tires help support things. They pop up when not needed to avoid unnecessary tire wear.Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh. billvon 3,034 #7 September 27, 2007 >I have always ponded that question so do they hydrolically come down or something Yes. They are dropped when the vehicle needs to maintain a given maximum load per axle, which is set by the type of road being used. They are raised when they need to be able to turn sharply, or when the additional load capability is not required.

happythoughts 0 #14 September 28, 2007 The arm band thing was started by matadors. When a woman in the stands threw a flower, he would put it in his armband as a tribute, like "this bull's for you" (my approach exactly). Once a Scottish singer was having throat problems from the chilled mountain air. He thought that he couldn't continue until a woman pulled off her woolen underwear and threw them on stage. He put them around his throat and was able to continue. Thus, starting the tradition of women throwing their underwear to singers. True story.

happythoughts 0 #18 September 28, 2007 Quote Jim the itching you are experiancing is something you should see a doctor about Really good grade wool is very light weight, breathable, and soft. I have 2 100% wool sport coats and several pair of wool socks. Very comfy. Many Scottish/Irish women still wear wool underwear today. If you know any, ask if you can rub it on your face for a moment. You will see what I mean.

Elisha 1 #25 September 28, 2007 Here's another couple (sorry, no pictures): #1 I've seen a rainbow strip (very thin - about an inch wide or less and over a foot long) on the back of cars - like a bumpersticker. Is that just a gay pride type of sticker? It seems different than the flags - almost like a decoration. #2 Today, I saw a rainbow cat sticker on the back of a car. WTF is that supposed to be - they support lesbo cats or something?
