lauraliscious 0 #6 September 27, 2007 I probably would have picked it up on my own, but it was required reading in my HS. 9th grade. Good book, but not the best I've ever read. That would be Lord of the Rings. Enemiga Rodriguez, PMS #369, OrFun #25, Team Dirty Sanchez #116, Pelt Head #29, Muff #4091

I wonder if the producers of this new show ever read it all the way through?
SpeedRacer 1 #8 September 27, 2007 Does anyone else understand the Biblical origin of the title? Baal was the Canaanite God. (Canaanite word for "Lord" = "Baal") The Canaanites would sacrifice humans, sometimes their own children, to Baal. The Israelites fought against the Canaanites when they took over the land. Their put-down of the Canaanite God was to call him "Baal-ze-bub" , Hebrew for "Lord of the Flies." That's where we get the name for the demon/devil "Baelzebub." BillyVance 34 #11 September 27, 2007 It's a good book. I also saw the movie, although the book seemed to be more vivid, but that's typical."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
