There are people whose last name is DICK (like the U of Arkansas football team's starting QB), I wonder if Arkansas DMV would issue a plate with DICK or IMADICK? jtval 0 #14 September 25, 2007 Funny. I heard this the other day but it was a follow up to a woman who had the same plate for 19 years. her name was Stacy but originally, 19years ago, when she went to get her plate her name was taken. So she decided to make a play on her name...19 years ago. hand she has had it ever since....19years ago. Her plate read XSTACY. The DMV denied it when she went to renew stating that "people AUTOMATICALLY think of the drug when they read that." The word ECSTACY means a state of being beyond reason and self-control. at least that was the only meaning 19years ago. I don't AUTOMATICALLY think of drugs when I hear that word. So because some one called a drug ecstacy we can no longer associate it with its original meaning, since we're all obviously junkies. Good thing they didn't name it Police, or Fire. What other words do you think we should ban to protect oursleves from evildoers? My photos My Videos
monkycndo 0 #15 September 25, 2007 The same stir happened in San Diego years ago. A new couple wanted a plate that was both of their initials. The plate was "RAP N JAP". It was issued and then rescinded.50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

I just don't get why our society tries to control all minds and behaviors so much.
jtval 0 #17 September 26, 2007 Maybe because we're turning into a society of pussies? Y'know little whiny assholes who think that a word will turn someone into a violent killer so we try to ban words to try to prevent people from being exposed to a reality that we were able to shield ourselves(if you so chose to do so) from prior to this war on IDEOLOGY. Now, people think that words will lead to thoughts which will inevitably lead to action and driving that car with that plate will turn anyone who reads it into 1 of 2 things: 1- a drug addicted home grown terrorist 2- someone who can think for themselves and make a decision about what that word means. Maybe if we ban enough words we can go back to a system of grunts and moans and eventually we will be a simpler society that can go back to clubbing each other. but that is just one mans opinion. the same man has a cliche... It's not the words that are offensive, it's the asshole whose aiming them at you! I can call you a potato but if I use the correct inflection and in a certain context I bet I can make you angry. I wish those people (FCC) who are making these rules would just do like they did in south park and stick their heads in the sand so we can go around and "fix em" so they can't procreate. Maybe they're just so worried that so many of us left the couch and started seeing how the real world exists they are scrambling to get us to be brain dead again..... Well, I guess I just launched this in to SC My photos My Videos
