bkellog1 0 #1 June 19, 2006 because of a car accident and me just being poor I need to sell a rig I bought last year. It's a complete system w/ infinity container saber2 170, pd 163 reserve and a cypres 2 AAD. It has never been jumped. what would be a reasonable asking price? And what is the best way to sell it? after reading about many scams i am paranoid about getting scamed if i don't sell it in person.
councilman24 37 #2 June 19, 2006 First fill out your profile and sign your name. Nobody wants to get scammed by you. Some riggers or DZ's will act as middleman. You send the rig, the buyer supplies the funds in secure way. Either the rigger examines and gives the buyer their opinion or the buyer can inspect (or jump if negotiated before). If buyer aggrees middleman sends money and turns over rig. Usually nationally or regionally known riggers or dropzones can be trusted. Usually some fee involved. As to price, you didn't jump it but drove it off the lot. Subtract shipping and taxes, subtract 5-10% for driving it off the lot. OR add 10 % if it's something that someone really wants for the priviledge of not having to wait. But it's unlikely it's exactly what someone would order. Supply the manuals and invoices to possible buyers to prove what you paid and negotiate from there.I'm old for my age. skybytch 273 #3 June 19, 2006 Another way to sell it without having to worry about being scammed or having to deal with questions from potential buyers would be to put it on consignment with a gear store (if there isn't a gear store in your area I'd suggest one of the larger online/phone dealers like Square One). The downside to consigning it is you won't get as much money out of the sale, but if you just don't want the hassle of selling it yourself it may be worth it. bch7773 0 #4 June 20, 2006 I'd say even more then 10% off. I know I would want a fairly big discount... otherwise I will just order mine new and get it in my size, my colors, my options, etc. MB 3528, RB 1182
