Best band ever

Recommended Posts

So is your most favroitest band ever based more on the actual music or the "place" it brings you back to?

I've noticed most of the bands I really dig lately tend to be the bands I listened to when I was younger and connected with the music more. It's almost more the feelings they bring back than the actual music.

Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

Janes Addiction

its about the music and where it brings me back to. all the good times and the bad times and all the memories of my brothers and sisters that no longer share this earth with me.

it brings peace to my mind......

What he said. Perry is my man crush.

Smoking is a combination test for intelligence and resistance to marketing/peer pressure. All smokers have failed at least one of these.

When I think about Hendrix, I remember sitting in small groups in Washington Square Park with a relatively unknown guy named Jimi playing his guitar and singing more than I remember the great Band of Gypsies tour and many of his popular hits. The same is true for Zappa and the Dead, who a while back, often entertained in small venues before they became popular. For me, I guess it is about where we were, perhaps even more than the music itself.

If you young guys aren’t sure what I’m talking about, just Google it.

RUSH, great band ;)

Hard to pick just one. Aerosmith, BOC, Black Sabbath, Frank Marino and Mohogany Rush, Styx, Montrose and Robin Trower are all greats.

If I have to narrow it to one, I gotta' go with Wishbone Ash...especially during the Laurie Wisefield years. A few '70's bands attempted harmony guitar leads and epic rock instrumentals but nobody managed to pull it off, as elegantly as Wishbone Ash. They also cover almost the entire rock spectrum....from folksy acoustic stuff , through progressive rock and up to the edge of heavy metal. One of the few bands, with music for every mood.

You never know just how you look in other people's eyes.

It just so much depends on my mood and the setting. Last night it was Savoy Brown and the title cut from Hellbound Train.

On the way to work this morning it was Cracker's Eurotrash Girl.

Right now I could really dig something fast moving with a good beat. Maybe some old Elvis Costello, or better yet, The Burning Sensations' Belly of the Whale or Check Your Mail.

I feel like Jonah in the belly of the whale.
