GogglesnTeeth 6 #3 September 6, 2007 I think they are already trying for that. Something like "patriot day" or something like that. Once they get "Hallmark" and the other greeting card companies, it will happen. Goggles and Teeth "You fall like a greased safe!!!"
Lindercles 0 #4 September 6, 2007 It already is Patriot Day, it's just not a holiday. And neither is Pearl Harbor day, so I don't see why Patriot Day should be either.

Why should we make a day of infamy a holiday? Just mark the day with a moment of silence and remember the victims, and that's it."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
Zep 0 #7 September 6, 2007 Hmm, September 11 is a national holiday, well in Catalunya anyway, It's the day they celebrate losing the war against the rest of Spain Gone fishing
skinnyshrek 0 #8 September 6, 2007 If that was the case then the UK should have about 200 days off a year due to the IRA. http://www.skydivethefarm.com do you realize that when you critisize people you dont know over the internet, you become part of a growing society of twats? CSpenceFLY 1 #9 September 6, 2007 To put a voice to the NOs. We have damn plenty holidays already. Now it you want to make it Patriot Day and not give everyone the day off that's fine but there are already enough days that employers have to pay people not to work. masterrig 1 #12 September 6, 2007 I kinda think of 9/11 in the same way I think of Pearl Harbor. We were soundly attacked and we have a day of rememberance... Dec. 7th. For 9/11, a day of rememberance, YES... holiday? No! To me, a holiday is a day of celebration and there is nothing to celebrate about Americans dying. tkhayes 348 #23 September 6, 2007 Pearl Harbor day is not a holiday, nor is D-Day, nor is the end of the Vietnam war day (or the start). Attacks on the country are NOT good reasons to have a holiday

Actually visiting cemetaries and remembering those who died so we can continue to live our lives... free! I think about my late father and my other relatives, living and passed who fought in WW-II and Korea. Whenever I meet a person in the Armed Forces or out... I thank them. That is what Memorial Day is to me. On 9/11, I think about those innocent people who never saw it coming and the reality of our vulnerability. I just can't think of those days as a day to burn hot-dogs and get drunk. Yeah... I believe, we're on the same page. Chuck
