BillyVance 34 #37 August 20, 2007 Having Asian Flank Steak for dinner tonight. I just hope my sore throat and cold doesn't get in the way of a good meal. Hell, it just may open up my sinuses! 1 1/2 lb flank steak 1/3 cup lime juice 1/4 cup fresh mint 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 tbsps minced peeled ginger root 2 tbsps minced seeded jalapeno pepper 3 garlic cloves, minced vegetable cooking spray 1 1/2 lb green beans 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes marinate steak overnight with first six ingredients in zip lock bag. When ready to cook, take steak out of bag and save marinade mix. Cook steak 8 minutes each side on grill. Cut steak in thin slices diagonally. Pour marinade through sieve into microwave safe bowl. Nuke at high 1 minute or until it boils. Steam green beans. Add green beans and tomatoes to hot marinade. Toss. Serve with steak. Snowwhite 0 #40 August 20, 2007 I usually use a little garlic powder, some rosemary and some salt and pepper in a cup of white wine. Pour that over the steaks and then liberally apply steakhouse pepper ( I think its just cracked pepper) and let it sit for about a half an hour. Phillbo 11 #41 August 20, 2007 For an appetizer, try my Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jalapeño Poppers : 1 Brick of Cream Cheese 1 package of baby bellas. 14 large jalapeños 1 package of Bar S Bacon. Nuke the cream cheese for a minute or so to soften. Dice up the Bellas ( a touch of garlic is nice as well) and mix them into the cream cheese. Slice one side of the Jalapeños ( so you can squeeze it long ways to open like a change purse) and clean out some of the seed and membranes ( the more you leave in, the hotter they are) . Stuff the Jalapeño with teh cream cheese/shroom mix. Wrap with bacon and use a tooth pick to hold it on. Place the poppers in a couple baking tins and stick 'em on the grill until the bacon is cooked . let cool for about 15minutes and enjoy!!!
Snowwhite 0 #42 August 21, 2007 MMMMMMmmm. Sounds like you really DO cook. I just play one on tv. Only cuz I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Truely, you would be safer having me do surgery, rather than eating my cooking. I only cook steak, so if you want anything to go with it, you have to bring it with you. Oh yea, I have popsickles in the freezer...... Guess that makes TWO courses I can do..skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
