Get a new car. Mustangs are for those who don't know better

eh..kinda late for that lol. Family with 7 people in unions, 3 union leaders. I'm 17, pay the car myself but dad got the insurance in his name to make it lower for me, wouldn't do it if the car wasn't american :-X.

Tinted it, just thinking of rims. Saw one with a underlight kit and wheel well kit, looked nice but everyones saying its too rice for a mustang. Any ideas? :-\

Disregard anything anyone says about Mustangs not being "real cars". Good god. Why do people have to be so tribal?

Anyway, EVERYTHING you want can be found at Saleen.

I'd avoid the "tuner" street glow type stuff like the plague, but that's just me. Some people like to attract cops; I just don't happen to be one of them.

I am not saying Mustangs aren't real cars, but for the money you could do better. For the power they put out they don't have the right suspension.

Saleen makes parts all day long and NOBODY does it better (for Mustangs).

What would you go with asides from the body kit and exhaust? I'm hearing the supercharger will blow the headers and just be an overall bad idea for an everyday car.

Exhaust and suspension. Cold air intake and sct tune. That's all I was really thinking of for performance.

I think it really depends on what you want to actually -do- with the car. Are you looking for something more flashy or are you interested in taking it to the track or what?

ditch the ugly rims

and maintain the damn thing, remember if you want a real race car, go buy one.

If you want a car to be there for you day and night, year after year don't start fucking with it.

Maybe a K&N air filter is all.

Was going with a jlt cold air intake and sct tune, http://www.bamachips.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=18_4_10_32&products_id=16

bit of both? The rims I was going to go with are light, they're 20 and fit the wheel well great and their lighter then the stock 17s.

Hmmm, what to do, what to do . . .

Tires and Wheels -are- a good place to start I guess.

HP-wise I think dollar for dollar chipping the car is probably your best bet if you don't want to add a blower, but the Saleen blower is -really- nice and only a moderate amount of boost. Enough to notice, but not so much that you'll blow anything up. At least that what Steve keeps telling folks.

err underlight kits are gay, and for girls.

Why do anything to it. I used to be all about the mods and then stopped and thought why??? If you want a faster car, save your money up and buy one. Cosmetic things are ok sometimes, but be tasteful. You can easily do many a wrong thing to that car.

But to each his own. I'd get an alarm first thing.

Have the factory one and the motion one from ford when the windows are down.

I had one installed from eargasm's with a keypad for 2 miles if it's hit.

There are so many aftermarket bits and pieces out there. If it were me, I'd upgrade the wheels, tires, brakes, and suspension first. Leave the engine alone for a while, it's plenty strong, and any @ss can go fast. ;)

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh

dont waste your money man. before i got into jumping. i put a blow off valve, chipped, cold air intake on my 1.8 gti. now that i think about it, i could have spent that money on more jumps. i was just bored i guess. personally i think making an average car fast is dumb. if you want to spend $ making a car fast, buy a fast car with the extra money. and omg if you live in CA look into buying a legal CAI. i ran into problems with mine

It's a Mustang GT convertible. Don't modify it, that's an A-to-B car, whether you like it or not. With a coupe, I would've suggested taking it to some autocrosses, seeing what the car's really capable of in stock form, and once you're comfortable with how it handles high-load corners, then start slowly modifying it piece by piece, intention and purpose in every part. Don't just modify a car for the sake of modifying it. Especially if it's got some stock power and handling.

So basically for the extra rwhp and a couple mpg, intake tune exhaust and lighter wheels for looks. Maybe a saleen suspension for nicer handling, asides from that, leave it be?

Someone turned the exact car into a track car, running 904 rwhp. Waste of $ in my opinion and now its a track car. I just wanna get a little more horse power. Aside from the vette, if I put a supercharger on it I could take everything stock including the gto but the gas mileage and blowing headers didn't seem worth it haha.
