davedlg 0 #1 August 23, 2007 For a government application, I recently had to reconstruct the last 10 years of my life. In between college, working as a whitewater raft guide / ski bum, and getting a "real" job, I've lived in 16 different places for at least 3 months at a time in the last ten years. Anyone else move a lot?

flygirl1 0 #3 August 23, 2007 Wow thats a lot! I bet its a bitch moving your stuff that much but, kinda cool to experience new places. I've moved three times in the last 10 years. Once from Studio City, CA to La Canada, CA then to Santa Cruz, CA and then to San Jose, CA.Fly like a girl
davedlg 0 #4 August 23, 2007 Yeah, moving everything is a huge pain in the ass and it's not as many uniquely different places as it sounds like. Within that 16, 6 are in Boulder, Colorado, 4 are in Canon City, Colorado, and 3 are in Lakewood, Colorado. In fact, the only one outside of Colorado is Fayetteville, West Virginia. I'm ready for the next move to be the last one for a long time.

BillyVance 34 #7 August 23, 2007 Amazingly enough I have stayed in one place for just over 7 years now. Being a homeowner helps to put the roots down. However, from 1993 to 2000, I probably moved 6 times."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
sartre 0 #8 August 23, 2007 Over the course of my life, I've moved 15 times. And there may be some moves I'm forgetting. Longest time in one state-12 years. Longest time in one abode-6 years. No wonder I hated travelling there for awhile!

tigra 0 #11 August 23, 2007 3. Before I bought my house, I lived in 3 different apartments in the same building, and I lived in that building for about 9 years. I moved from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom, then moved to a different 2 bedroom so my landlord could re-do the unit I was currently in. The last move was sort of in exchange for him giving me a short term lease since he knew I was househunting and would likely be moving within 6 months. And those moves within the same building weren't really as easy as you would think they would be. I still needed to transfer the phone, cable, gas and electric, plus you get a lot less help from your friends if they think its just a simple move across the hall or upstairs! flyangel2 2 #13 August 23, 2007 When you own a house and are raising children, you tend not to move. Now the house has sold, and the boys are out and have their own lives. All I can say is GAME ON..............NOW IT'S MY TURN TO ENJOY LIFE. I'm just waiting to see where that next turn in the road will take me May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey

CanuckInUSA 0 #17 August 23, 2007 Quote So are you going to repeat the cycle? I would like to, since Calgary pretty much sucks ass with it's shitty weather, less than desirable jumping opportunities and inflated high cost of living. But first Keith needs to stop telling his friends at the INS that I am a terrorist (and I did come back to Cowtown to reno my house and sell it). But I would like to skip steps #1 through 3 and head directly to step #4. I don't need to go through the Springs again. Sure it is a scenic city. But they are too obsessed with the Devil down there. jimmytavino 16 #19 August 24, 2007 Zero Times i've been in the same home now, for 20 years... It is a nice home we like it first picture is our house second is wintertime around here... brrrrrr third , fourth and fifth are some of our wildlife neighbors.. The piliated woodpecker lives in the woods. It is waaay bigger than any crow, I've ever seen. one time I saw two of them, together, both pecking away at the same tree...They are really Big... The 2 African Elephants live down the hill behind our house, at the recently expanded Local Zoo... We can walk less than 100 yards, through the woods, to a local footpath, in order to visit them, even when the zoo is closed to the public. ( 5 pm til 9 Am ) . we feel fortunateMove?????? no thanks. we're happy...jimmy
