snafuhere 0 #1 July 7, 2006 So I am about to downsize: I have Javelin Odyssey TJNK with PD-R143 & XF2-139 want to go for XF2-119 any experience with that size (119) of canopy in TJNK? by Sunpath chart TJNK is up to 139 main one size smaller is up to 120 main I am conserned because Javelins seem to be on a loose side regarding the main canopy fit any experience with that? https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
Brains 2 #2 July 7, 2006 I have a TJNK and i have had a stiletto 135, Crossfire2 109, and my normal Cobalt 105 in it with no problems. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
snafuhere 0 #3 July 7, 2006 thanks for the reply what is your reserve model/size? mine is one size bigger than sunpath spec so the main department should be tighter than normal, I suppose https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
gmac324 0 #4 July 8, 2006 I have a TJN witha PD126 reserve and a crossfire 109 in it. I have paked a sabre2 135 in there too with no problems. A pd143 reserve must be pretty tight in that? Graeme
snafuhere 0 #5 July 8, 2006 Quote A pd143 reserve must be pretty tight in that? it's tight but looks nice generally I think sunpath sizes the container too loose, so when one wants to downsize it calls for a new one thanks for the answer, I will try 119 in mine, hope it's not too lose https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

But thats OK because it "looks nice". That seems like a valid reason to over pack the container. And you are right, they do everything they can to make sure you have to buy a new rig if you downsize. It’s their mission in life. I think that is called rationalizingMy idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
snafuhere 0 #7 July 9, 2006 Quoteit's tight but looks nice nice means OK (not only about the looks but safety and usability too) and yes, this was checked with very experienced rigger and the manufacturer as well this is my second javelin, both were ordered new I am very happy with the rig but I do think it's on a loose side maybe I am better than average packer, but I am afraid that putting anything smaller than the max specified by sunpath might be too loose https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
snafuhere 0 #8 September 1, 2006 for the record: now I have XF2-119 in TJNK and it fits great not that big change from 139 a smaller than 109 would be too loose in my opinion https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
