bazelos 0 #1 August 4, 2007 Greece still has compulsory national service for all males, and me being a Greek guy, have to do 12 months of service. The months used to be 30, so a year, well it's not that bad. Now the good news is that I might make it to the paras! I am enlisting in the special forces training camp on Monday, going to have 20 days to prove that I am fit enough to qualify for the 6 weeks of basic training. It is going to be rather difficult as I am developing a godamn hernia, I am not sure how I am going to hide this from the medical exam. If I make it, and do survive the basic training, and somehow get myself to the paras regiment I am going to do just 13 jumps, all of them on rounds too, of course, but we get to jump off C130s and Chinooks! I have never even boarded a helicopter so it's going to be an experience. To be honest even if I don't make it I am going to be happy enough shooting my m16, but if I do make, I can go back to my DZ in England and act all hard that I am a paratrooper So! Wish me luck He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man.
Beerlight 0 #4 August 5, 2007 Ah, hernia?! You may wanna bring that up now. You can always go in later, with a repaired hernia. Good luck!
