When I worked for General Dynamics, I saw some great HUD video of an F-16 doing low-level practice when the pilot f***ed up and went through, not over, the trees on a hill. It tore the hell out of the fins under the tail, most of the lip around the air-inlet was gone, and the leading edges of the wings took a beating. The engine ran pretty rough as it digested the branches, but then it smoothed out a bit, and he limped home in it."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Darius11 12 #3 July 23, 2007 LOL I just watched a video of a dude landing an F-15 that was missing one whole wing. Thank god for the wide body. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1aKxAN7bAs&mode=related&search=I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Gawain 0 #6 July 24, 2007 Quite cool indeed!! What I really like is how the pilots appear to have such a relaxed demeanor flying nap-of-the-earth. I'm sure it's a lot more involved, but it's awesome that they're so comfortable with their rocket-sleds... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Spatula 0 #7 July 24, 2007 I had two incentive rides while I was in the AF...one in an F-15, the other an F-16...about shat myself both times...got the take the stick too in both....unreal experience...only puked after the F-16 ride too....but I was ok with that... Plus my buddy was the pilot on the F-15 ride so it was even more fun!
