I've had it happen when I'm using one finger to type.

Guest #7 July 11, 2007 Make sure you're using the vendor-supplied drivers and not the operating system. Sometimes they don't play well. mh ."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."

ANYWAY, you can disable the pad so it doesn't do that.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
2fat2fly 0 #9 July 11, 2007 My Dell Latitude does the same thing when I rest my hands below the keyboard instead of keeping my hands in "typing" position.I am not the man. But the man knows my name...and he's worried
Morrison79 0 #10 July 11, 2007 Mine does the same thing. You don't actually have to even touch the pad. If you press down hard enough or in the right spot next to the little pad it can move the cursor. Best thing to do is disable the little pad.

BillyVance 34 #14 July 11, 2007 Not had that problem specifically, but I've had instances on here when I'm typing a post and use a pair of those mark ups like (quote) or (b), etc... and I get the first one placed where I want, then mark the location for the closing mark up, click the mark up I want and click it in place but it ends up in a different place. wildblue 7 #17 July 11, 2007 QuoteQuotemy HP has a little hardware button to disable the pad...so convenient how do I disable the pad? Go into the control panel and double click the little mouse icon. Somewhere in there it probably has something along the lines of 'disable mouse click while typing' that will ignore touches for a few seconds after you've pressed a key. Some laptops have a key stroke to disable it as well - do you have a "fn" button near the bottom? It's usually like that with the F9 key for Toshibas ... I think.it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
