I'm not totally sure but I don't think they did. The impression I got from the doctor while talking to him is this is what they'd do for anyone with the injury I had.

Oh ya. I see dislocations on hip replacements almost weekly. With the kind you have (metal to metal) it really isn't much more than a big pain in the ass. The bad part is that once it happens that first time it loosens those ligaments so that it will happen a little more easily.

I would certainly ask your doctor about some kind of training to keep those hip flecors and muscle nice and strong so it doesn't happen. Its something i havn't been able to understand. You would thing they would build the ball and socket to that its really fucking hard to pull them out. I really need to pick Amy's (billvon's wife) brain about that. she is an ortho doc as far as i know.

hahaha yup i see that all the time. We had this guy in his 40's come in with double replacements he popped one of them out getting out of the tub lol. wife found him on the floor naked and screaming. Gave him the milk of amnesia(sp) and popped that sucker back in.
