pwln 0 #1 June 27, 2007 I may be a complete retard but I just can't seem to figure out why my wifes 2007 Pontiac Vibe beeps every 2 minutes. It is a warning beep of some sort. (Not a horn beep) It does not matter if the radio is off, ac off, passenger seat belt fastened, car in park, windows rolled up, gas tank full, or any other thing I can think of. There are no extra lights turned on, on the dash.

Tell me when I can't GET somewhere 'cause the gas is low. Don't tell me when I can't SEE where I'm going ... 'Shell

pwln 0 #4 June 27, 2007 Well, I went out there and put that dirty little bit of washer fluid that was left from the last fill up and it seems to have stopped. That is so dumb. They could have put a light in for that.
pwln 0 #5 June 27, 2007 I looked in the book, I called the 800 number for pontiac and they could not help me. I seem to have missed all of the service dpt's in the US for the day.. But it seems that washer fluid did the trick. I'll look at that section of the manual and see if it states anything about bugging the crap out of you for washer fluid. They could have put a light in for that. I HATE it when my Jeep beeps at me for that reason. AND I have a nice little screen in there that with an outline of the vehicle and it flashes when my door is open, etc, etc ... the fuckin' thing FLASHES the windshield AND beeps when I need washer fluid. I'm sure it will be REALLY helpful when the left rear TIRE is flashing when it blows out! ... Okay, aside from that, I LOVE my Jeep. Really. I do. DeNReN 0 #7 June 27, 2007 pretty soon the engineers will have a ignition lockout so that your car wont start if low on washer fluid....and then some freaks will petition the gov to mandate it.....and the manufacture will then deprive the aftermarket of the information needed to release the lock out....and force you back to the dealer for the repair...where a salesman will proceed to sell you a new vehicle......... After that, neither of us will be topped up. 'Shell
pwln 0 #10 June 27, 2007 Well I just went out and drove it around, and used that little bit of fluid. The beeping has not came back. Maybe the sensor needs to dry out a little. I'll check it in the heat of tomorrow afternoon. What do I need wiper fluid for anyways? That's what rain and car washes are for. I'll be really pissed if the noise does not come back! BillyVance 34 #13 June 27, 2007 My beef with our Pontiac Vibe is that the headlights are wired to stay on all the time the engine's running. Why?? I can't turn them off. simplyputsi 0 #18 June 27, 2007 ummm billy, those are called daytime running lights. Years back they came up with statistics that found people who had their lights on during the day were in less accidents because they were more visible. Saturn was one of the first companies to start using them. Saturn is GM, pontiac is GM. It's a GM thing. Anywho. if it was the window washer causing this problem, what a piece of junk. Just another mindless thing to go wrong with your car so that when it breaks you have to get it fixed and it costs like $300 for parts and labor. But you're car really doesn't even need the thing. Go figure.Skymama's #2 stalker -

livendive 8 #20 June 27, 2007 QuoteQuoteToggle switches are your friend, got wire cutters/crimpers? How would I fix it so I can turn the lights on and off like normal? The GM trucks at work with DRLs have an override button on the left of the steering wheel that, when pushed 3 or 4 times in succession, turns the DRLs off for the duration of the drive (till you turn the car off). Barring that, here is a more permanent fix. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
warpedskydiver 0 #21 June 27, 2007 nice find, basically what I was talking about. No ground = no worky worky the 3 wire is so you have a light on the switch.
