bloody_trauma 2 #1 August 8, 2006 think my croakies will keep my oakley V's on my face? they hug my face pretty tight likeFly it like you stole it
mx757 4 #2 August 8, 2006 get a small tie wrap / tye-wrap and tie it on trim off the excess.. you can cut the tye wrap off later after finish jumping for day...
riggerrob 643 #3 August 8, 2006 Similarly, tying a piece of tacking cord tightly around the Croakie and ear piece will help keep them together.
masterrig 1 #4 August 8, 2006 I don't know why not. I knew a guy who never wore goggles... just his eye glasses and croakies. Never lost his glasses in free-fall. Chuck

Elisha 1 #6 August 8, 2006 WTF are Croakies? Merchandise these days....weird names.
matthewcline 0 #7 August 9, 2006 "these days" Croakies are almost old school. There are an eye wear retention strap (can you tell I am in the Army Instruction arena?) that looks like they are made of the same material as a wet suit (but not).An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Not "almost old school", they ARE old school, they've been around for 15 years or more. Sheesh where have you been? Mick.

matthewcline 0 #10 August 9, 2006 15 years is just hitting "Junior", 20 years that is "old School"! Those glasses straps with the black rubber loops and the cheap elastic band wit hthe small metal buckle, those are "OLD SCHOOL".An Instructors first concern is student safety. bloody_trauma 2 #11 August 10, 2006 maybe i should get me a pair of those high speed airborne glasses... we got a guy who wears them on patrols out here and hes not even air borne or air assault hes just a leg! a red leg at thatFly it like you stole it
matthewcline 0 #12 August 11, 2006 do yo umean the "Ranger" goggles that have a frame but no temples they are all elastic? I laugh when we are up in the C-130 or C-17 and a Jumpmaster is wearing those. If he is doing his job right (and does have those things super tight) they will stretch out from his face 6 to 8 inches during the check to the rear (it is 150mph + out there) and whe nhe brings his head back in POW!! I have seen many a tough Paratrooper cry in the door at 800'. The model from "Scipt" called "Micro" works well. Most of the Cadre here use them on thier issued GatorZ Convertors. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! aubsmell 0 #13 August 12, 2006 Yo... I have been jumping in Native - Gatorz - Oakley's - IronMan sunglasses with Crokies and with a variety of other brand straps, I've flown my birdman suit, done tandems, belly flown all with and without a helmet and I have never lost a pair, or even lost a contact lense... This has been about the last 4 years. On the other hand I have lost goggles and I have lost contact lenses with goggles on... I'm totally converted... however, make sure you have a pair of glasses with clear or yellow lenses for those sunset jumps, cause trying to land in sunglasses after the sun has gone down, is not the safest thing in the world...
