I am in no way defending this guy. Of course a 40 year old marrying a teenager is wrong. I am in my 40s myself and know damn well that someone that young is to be avoid for the very same reason you are ready and willing to crucify the dude. But you don't know that he will go after another teenager. If these two did NOT violate the locals laws, then let them be. If you don't agree with the current laws, well then do what you need to do to change those laws. But while we all know it is wrong, if they did not break the law, then they did not break the law.

She is still a young girl. Once she matures into a woman, she will see the huge mistake she has made. It is just unfortunate that her parents and her peers did not give her better advice.

Considering that they married when she was 16 and were very likely involved well before that, I think its quite likely that he DID break the law.
He was probably having sex with a 15 year old girl.
Thats statutory rape in most states as far as I know.
He just didnt get caught.
