I was thinking a Dark Gray and Navy Blue for the colors on the jump suit and rig. But I also like the Bright colors of navy Blue and Green. What do you think of the dark colors or the bright colors for the jump suit adn the rig. this will also include the canopy. Please give me some ideas. Sockpuppet 0 #2 August 10, 2006 Stupidly bright orange and yellow is always good. If you chop on the last load of the day I doubt you will be walking round saying "gee...thank heavens I had a grey chute....yellow would be too easy to find". ------ Two of the three voices in my head agree with you. It might actually be unanimous but voice three only speaks Welsh.

za_skydiver 0 #5 August 10, 2006 Get a neon pink jumpsuit with neon yellow grips, and the same for your gear, that way the whole dz will see you coming! I prefer bright colors, but i dare you too get it in pink! Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
brianfry713 0 #6 August 10, 2006 I'm totally clueless about colors and looking cool, so I had my girlfriend choose the colors for everything. I'm sure it came out much better than anything I would've designed. Of course, if I thought something looked awful, I let her know. I think she enjoyed doing it, she had about 100+ printouts of color combinations from the online canopy and rig designer. You might try to ask your gear dealer for help as well. What do you think of the dark colors or the bright colors for the jump suit adn the rig. this will also include the canopy. Please give me some ideas. 1. Unless you've gotten to the point where you'll be keeping your rig for a _long_ time (I put 600 jumps on my last main and have about 900 jumps on my main rig) you might want something easy to sell. That means neutral inoffensive colors. Dark grey, black, etc. on the container. No pink canopies. 2. You will sweat like a hog when packing on hot summer days. A dark center cell (I have a royal & white canopy, with a black center cell) won't show dirt as much. 3. Dark jumpsuits are friggen hot in the summer sun. I've always gotten black & white checkerboards with black ass+knees (you will fall and sit on grease/dirt); added royal blue racing stripes after I wore the first one out. Next suit I might just get white with the black patches and royal racing stripes. It's your gear. Buy something that suits YOU.
DJmikeD 0 #11 August 11, 2006 So even with the Green the Royal blue will hide the canopy in the sky. should I change the paturn a bit on the canopy to make it more visible with the Green. I do plan on keep the rig for a long time, at least the next 500 jumps or so. I am not one that can go out on saturdays to the DZ so that limits me to the number that I can do in a day with the flights that are available. I started with a 280 I am at a 240 now I am buying the Fusion 190 My Container will work down to a 175 I think. That is as low as I want to go for a while. bob.dino 1 #13 August 11, 2006 The Earth is green, the sky is blue! I'd suggest at least a couple of brighter cells on the main. Yellow/Orange/Red or even just neon green?
Slurp56 0 #14 August 11, 2006 Yo DjMikeD! If you are buying a fusion 190, depending on the reserve size you get, you can keep the container long enough to, probably, downsize to a 150. I put together what your rig may "possibly" look like, I got a little creative with your colors.________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw. brabzzz 0 #17 August 11, 2006 STOP! Dude, green does NOT belong on a rig! Seriously, there are very very very few good looking rigs with green on them. In the end, it's none of my business and if you like it, that's ll that counts. But resale value takes a shot in the foot (you might be selling sooner than you think) and so might your views about whats 'cool' with time. --------------------------------------- Ex-University of Bristol Skydiving Club www.skydivebristoluni.com
Trae 1 #18 August 12, 2006 in reply to "I am buying a new Jump suit and complete system and I need an openion from all of you on the colors" ................................................................. Definitely go high visibility. That means bright colours contrasting the sky/ground. ie blue/green/grey contrasts = orange, red, (white) Some colours when placed together set up a high vis contrast against each other eg purple & yellow. Don't hold back ...go flouro even. Being easy to see will decrease your collision risk. .... Bright colours look more cheerful over the death warmed up and hard to see dark colours. lighter colours are less effected by UV as well.
Inthebuff 0 #19 August 12, 2006 Have you seen the camoflage containers that are about ? You can get blue camo, traditional green & brown or the very snazzy desert camoflage. probably look best with FF pants and a sweat shirt.*********************************** Fly Like Zie Eagle, Not Like Zie Chicken ! DJmikeD 0 #22 August 12, 2006 Slurp, the order has been maid, Got a sweet custom rig on its way thanks for the outline I will send you a pic when it comes in I loved it. (well be about 10 weeks on its way. Here are the specks. Infinity container with Stainless Hardware red oh sh!@ handle for the reserve Pillow, Green for the cutaway, Main is going to be Fusion 190 Royal Blue and Neon Green, Reserve PD-176 - - was thinking about having Ahh Crap printed on the underside of it. Vigil AAD - Been jumping these but I also liked the Cypress 2. Also ordered the Flite Suit that will be in about 6 weeks. Sucks that i have to use the students jump suit still but I should be pretty darn good with the landing when My stuff arrives. Thank you to all for the help and advise - I love this board because people are not afraid to say this is what I think but its my opinion. That was what I was looking for just your openion. As a new guy I have to suck in everything that I can. One thing that I learned about the order was simply if you make the cells alternating colors it can make it easier to pack. Maid since to me.
