Been a Tandem Passenger Lately?

Wow I don't remember being so nervous under canopy during my very first skydive ever back at the convention in 1999.

Did two as a passenger last week helping out a TM in training. Exit fun, freefall fun but the canopy ride! Yikes I wanted to be in control.

If you haven't been a tandem passenger recently, give it a go for shits and giggles.

Dude I know exactly what you're talking about. I did the same thing a few weeks ago. What wigged me out was the initial "trap door" effect from deployment...

I don't know anything about a raisin seed, but I know that even the TI-to-be was relating with me under canopy, "Isn't that insane dude? Talk about being helpless when you have hundreds of jumps and then you decide to do a tandem."

Can you say hell no. I did one tandem like that and would have to really like someone to do it again.

distance you can spit a raisin seed = pucker factor

I think I'd probably break the 100 yard mark, myself...

I'm with you man. I finally got back up in the air Memorial Day Weekend down at Emerald Coast with a marvelous TM Rick. My last 'air time' was Dublin 06. Too freakin long.

We did a fruit dive and enjoyed bananas and apples in free fall with the camera guy. All but a few landed off of the dz.

Needless to say, when we were in free fall I was using soooo much self control not to reach back for my hackey.

I have suddenly re-lived every strange moment of the 40+ jumps I have done as a tandem passenger for friends getting their rating!

Ughhhhhh, not a pretty thought all this time after having done them! WTF was I thinking???

And what's up with those landings???

Really though, I was delighted to have helped --a few of them especially but no way will I go there again!
