dbrutherford 0 #1 June 18, 2007 Well I just started a new job as a production engineer and I haven't touched the production floor more than twice... go figure. So what do you all do to kill time? I used to always play games on www.teagames.com and www.addictinggames.com but they block those at work. Now I mainly just play old school Nintendo games on an emulator I downloaded years back to my USB drive. They can't block that! That little jewel save me in college more than once from boredom! And yes, I know we all just love the forums. At least they aren't blocked at work...."... and I'll jump off that bridge when I get to it...."
d_squared431 0 #2 June 18, 2007 Today is just a paperwork day. I don't always get a chance to play online when I am at work but it is a non patient day so I get to read the forums and sneak a few posts in.TPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly

Morrison79 0 #4 June 19, 2007 I started my job about 1 1/2 years ago. I travel quite a bit, which is somewhat interesting, but when we are in the office there is not much to do. Typically I will try to get my hang over under control, than I will look around DZ, Ebaumsworld, watch an episode of South Park, check the weekend weather a few dozen times and repeat after lunch. Granted nothing ended up crashing and it only got to 85 deg in the data center with a few heat warnings . But my luck if I had been on I would have been in here half the weekend doing damage control. mnealtx 0 #9 June 19, 2007 85? That's it? That's a normal summer temperature for your equipment room (and that's WITH 9x24k BTU A/C units running)!Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
eeneR 3 #10 June 19, 2007 Quote 85? That's it? That's a normal summer temperature for your equipment room (and that's WITH 9x24k BTU A/C units running)! We normally keep general temps in our DC around 73 deg. Gives us a buffer if something does happen. Remember I am in a Tier 4 Hosting facility. (Tier 1 data com). The AC, power, UPS and generators here are impressive. Cooling is done through (3) 350 ton chillers and (16) 30 ton CRAC units to distribute air through the raised floor and up through perforated tiles This site is small compared to the other one 10 min away I started at...that one is over 100k sf of equipment though there is no CO there...there is here. And on that note it is time for this one to go home...wooohoooShe is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto

efs4ever 3 #13 June 19, 2007 Can't say I have a boring job. I've always tried to keep things interesting. In college I worked at a funeral home in Conroe, Texas. I was a prison guard during THE most famous Texas Prison escape attempt (Carrasco in 1974) Willett was my shift Lt. I delivered pizza. I photographed strippers for their publicity stills. I conducted over a thousand parole revocation hearings before I was a lawyer. Now I represent citizens accused of crimes, and I've tried a few cases to the two word verdict. I've taken 1,400 people on tandem jumps, including MANY significants. I washed dishes. I pumped gas. I shined shoes. Russell M. My job isn't that boring, it just was/is until I am there long enough for them to dump a crap load of work on me. Right now I am still doing training and "trying to learn the operation." I forgot about ebaum's world! I bet it is blocked too though. They block MySpace and Facebook as well as any game or video site. But the don't block ebay. Go figure?
