lynxie 0 #1 August 16, 2006 Has anyone here replaced the main recoil ripcord system of a tandem sigma? *I wonder if it is possible to replace only the 33" 1/8" bungy? How is the bungy attached, is it sewn to the spectra line or attached some other way? I'm asking this because I would like to know if I can replace the bungy in field and which tools I need to bring. I don't have any sigmas at home I can look at and I can't tell from the manual. -- "If you can dream it, you can DO IT!" --
irishrigger 32 #2 August 16, 2006 hi, its fairly easy to change that.you can get a replacement very cheap from RWSabout $20 i believe.they are also easy enough to make up yourself.just copy the old one and use the same markings as on the old one on where to attacj the bungy cord.also it will be a big help if you have a spare reserve handle with an "EYE" on it to thread it through the housing,if you have a look at the manual, there is a pic on.the hardest part will be to open the knot that is below the golfball.but not really a big issue
RIGGER 0 #3 August 17, 2006 I'm a RWS's Tandem I/E. Order the kit from the RWS only !!! It is mandatory by the RWS to use the ORIGINAL only. Do not try to do it yourself & please do not take an "Advise" to duplicate the system. It does not cost so much. I hope you know how to replace the kit. Safe Rigging !!!
