CSpenceFLY 1 #1 June 12, 2007 Against the advice of a good friend and my better judgment I'm here to tell you ,my friends, what my post last Thursday was all about. About a year and 4 months ago I reconnected with my high school sweetheart. Yes, Julie knows about this. This is the girl that, had it not been for the meddling of an over protective family member, I would have married. It has taken this last year and a couple of months to get to the point that we were both comfortable with a meeting. A little more her than me but it was still a very intense experience. There are a lot of what ifs in a situation like this. Anyway, I went up to the mountains on Thurs. to meet her and her family. Went Geocaching on Friday with her husband David and sons Justin and Ryan. Then the most important part,they came to the RV park to have dinner with us so Julie could meet them.Everything went well and I'm not divorced or living in the motorhome. Now I know alot of you are sitting there saying WTF is the big deal here. Well for me here it is. Way back then, the breakup devastated me and I never knew why it happened. Her brother in law was a local cop who did not like me and she was intimidated into breaking up, with the threat that if she didn't or if anyone found out why he was going to make my life hell. In that time and in the town I lived in he could have very easily sent me to jail. This town was the poster child for the Good ol boy network. So that is it in a nut shell. Way more to the story but I'm holding out for a movie deal. This brings to an end a very long chapter in my life with the hope of starting a new one with an old friend and her family. And Billy, the only thing that has kept me from going to "visit" Gene is the desire to not cause problems in her family and to move away from the past and on to the now. And if both of you love your families with no covert intent, then why not all be friends. Neither of you are the same people, and you would be a fool to trade one family for the next. The person you where then is not the person you are now and same for her...... the two probably would not mix well at all! Though some morons do sell the farm for someone they think will give them a better life and I think it rarely ever works.......But I think what you did was cool! I agree..I'm glad you got closure on why she broke your heart and I truly hope that you are happy to see her with her husband and children and they met your wife..all all the stuff Cloudseeker says about being different people seems right to me. Its a sweet story, but why would I want to sit for 2 hours to watch it? Let us know when the rotten brother gets all that dirt pulled out on the open.
