AggieDave 6 #1 July 15, 2004 Thought I'd ask everyone, instead of just in a non-related thread. I'm trying to figure out a fun backroads way to get from Bryan/College Station to Spaceland. So far all I can come up with is Hwy 6 south to Hempsted 359 south to Fulshear 60 east to 723 south 723 south to 59 59 east to 762 762 south to 1462 and on into Rosharon. Any other (simplier) ideas that still keep me out of Houston and riding cool country highways?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Slappie 9 #2 July 15, 2004 I aint got shit dude! Sounds like a plan to me LOL never been on any of those roads I may have "527" wrong. I just "know" my way, ya know? I do know Almeda road turns into a highway and I keep wanting to call it 527. I could be wrong. AggieDave 6 #3 July 15, 2004 I've got to get a better map, my map doesn't have 527 on it... It seems like on a different map I was looking at a while back (thinking about this trip) there was a really direct route off of 6 that kept us in the back roads...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Slappie 9 #7 July 15, 2004 Checking out your route, I would think that would keep you plenty off the beaten path. AggieDave 6 #8 July 15, 2004 Yeah, but there's a lot of highway changes, I was trying to find something a little more direct but still back out that way.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Slappie 9 #9 July 15, 2004 Trying to go direct will drag you into suburbia and Houston.. stay away!! The SW of Houston was pretty much all pasture and rice paties forever before development. So roads and highways have all been put in, in the last 50 years (or so) reason behind them is anyways guess LOL but it's all farm roads and shit. Stick to your route an you'll have some fun cruising. Be ready for alot of lights closer to Richmond Sugarland area. You'll be on the edge of Suburbia "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." jumperconway 0 #10 July 15, 2004 Dave tell all your friends to stay away from loop 610 around the Galleria, it's under major reconstruction! They can take beltway 8 south all the way to 288S.

Excellent point and not that anyone would but avoid 59 N in to downtown at all costs as well.

AggieDave 6 #15 July 15, 2004 A buddy of mine gave me this suggestion, this seems pretty cool! You could take 60 west to 36 by somerville then 36 all the way down through Rosenberg, and then 1462 past Brazos Bend state park to Spaceland--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
