JSBIRD 1 #26 June 1, 2007 48th percentile for me. No education, no job, and no big income. My only saving grace is having a half million in cash in the bank. 359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"
JohnMitchell 16 #27 June 1, 2007 Quote The slacks, shirt, shoes, and belt I wore to my daughter's graduation were $450. As I said, I'm not particularly good at saving money. Wow, I didn't pay that much for my whole suit, silk blend, at Nordstrom's Rack! At the risk of sounding metro, we need to go shopping.

Nightingale 0 #29 June 1, 2007 LOL. It stuck me in the top 1/5 in education and occupation, but didn't take into account the education debt it took to get there (or the fact that I live in California, where the cost of living is ridiculous!).

And actually, now that I think about it, I usually wear a different pair of shoes with that shirt, so I guess I'm not sure what I wore to my daughter's graduation, other than those pants (it was my second time wearing them, and I ruined them later that night and had to buy another pair). wmw999 2,544 #42 June 2, 2007 The job rankings are weird. I think a college education is probably over-valued in there, but that may only be because I have one. But saving is rewarded Wendy W. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. kbordson 8 #43 June 2, 2007 Umm... ok. It ranks me a lot higher than I would rank myself. I think that focus on money should not be the way to "value" a person.... of course, some could say, it's easy for me to say that ranking where I did. But even with the money in the bank, there's a lot more to me as a PERSON than what the checkbook register reads.... there are some doctors or lawyers or even millionaires/billionaires that I wouldn't waste my time on (wouldn't spend a minute shopping with Paris Hilton). I have friends with nothing and friends with the convience of wealth. My friends are friends because of who they are.... but it's still an interesting site.
