SpecialKaye 0 #4 May 27, 2007 Tuesday will be 6 weeks for me. Good luck to you!!! It's tough but worth it. Find things to help you through the urges when they hit...yard work, push ups, jumping jacks, bike riding, (all will improve your health and divert your attention) whatever gets your mind off the urge. For me, I decided to not use anything but will power...I've done a bunch of rigging projects, built risers for several friends (custom colors), it keeps my hands busy. rhys 0 #5 May 27, 2007 I had a late night ciggie when I was in Zanzibar about 5 weeks ago and felt quite ill afterwards. I haven't had a cigarette since. I had been smoking for 19 years since the age of 13! I don't really miss it at all. I do have the odd pang but for no more than a few minutes. I just look how stupid people look while smoking. and imagine what it does to thier lungs. I can't actually believe I smoked for so long! I suggest the book called 'the easy way to give up smoking' or something like that. it explains all the psychology behind the addiction and I gave up for 4 months after reading it. Working for an asshole got me back in the habit 1.5 years ago but this time no problem. Keep it up! base283 0 #6 May 27, 2007 After going on a 3 month progressive program of nicotine gum and patches, I feel that I am ready to light up my first cigarette. My question is: Menthol or non menthol? take care, space
