craig00025 0 #1 August 29, 2006 I am looking at getting a infinity container (DOM 04) with a 210 Hornet that has 300 jumps on it and a 220 Aerodyne Smart reserve, cypres is included and is DOM 01 , as well as a pro ditter a jumpsuit and a open faced carbon fiber bonehead helmet. He wants $4000 for the package. Let me know if i am getting a good deal PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
NWFlyer 2 #2 August 29, 2006 I'll leave the value question to the more informed folks, but one question would be: what is the DOM on the Cypres, and where is it in its battery/service schedule?"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
kelpdiver 2 #3 August 29, 2006 are those sizes appropriate for you? Does the harness fit you well? Looking in Parachutist/Skydiving - you can buy a new bundle in the neighborhood just over 3000 for infinity/smart/ and a main newer and more resalable than the Hornet. Unless the cypres is pretty new, this package can't be worth $4k. In the motorcycle world, one never puts any value (or uses) the helmets thrown in on a bike sale. Since they don't do much for skydivers, that's not so true, but I wouldn't put much $$ there unless that helmet is the one you would buy new anyway. nbblood 0 #4 August 30, 2006 The Smart reserve is made by Aerodyne, not PISA. PISA makes the Tempo. Which is it? That makes a big difference, at least to me. It kind of sounds to me like the seller doesn't exactly know what he/she has. Blues, NathanBlues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute. freakyflyr11 0 #5 August 30, 2006 i would deffenatly want to know more about the cyperss if i were you....also get a rigger to check out the equipment ....dont worry about if this is a good deal or not worry about if this is the right equipment for you and if the equipment is in good condition.jumping too soon into a good deal can get you burned. mjosparky 4 #6 August 30, 2006 Get the following on the different components: Container: DOM, length of MLW, hard or soft housing, RSL and type of main deployment. (ROL, BOC, Pull Out ect.) Main: DOM, type of lines, how many jumps on lines, patches or other damage. Reserve: DOM, type of lines, # of deployments, overall condition, any SB’s AAD: DOM, 4/8 service, last battery change Like someone else mentioned, are these canopies appropriate for your size and experience. And remember, no matter what the seller says, this gear is something he no longer wants for what ever reason. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
sundevil777 102 #7 August 30, 2006 I'd say 3K is more reasonable.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
fmmobley 0 #8 August 30, 2006 Considering the fact that you could buy an all new rig for just a few hundred more, it seems overpriced to me.... Marion

DougH 270 #11 August 30, 2006 4000 is too high. I just purchased a icon, pilot, smart, cypress two package used with 100 jumps, for 3500 and I might have been able to do better if I kept looking."The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
peckerhead 0 #12 August 30, 2006 Without pictures and a more detailed description I would say $2500. + or - depending on condition.
craig00025 0 #13 August 30, 2006 ive seen the pictures and the lines are all in great condition as well as the main. The Reserve DOM is 04 and the main i believe is 00 so the rig is almost new.
MarkM 0 #14 August 30, 2006 Sounds a little too pricey. Go to the classifieds on this site and price out different mains, reserves, containers and used AADs. That should give you an idea of the market value of the components.

Be careful, because it's sometimes hard to tell the condition of something based solely on pictures. If you have Jeff look it over (have a rigger look at any used gear before buying it) , I'm sure he could tell you the value of it. He's pretty good at that kinda stuff.
