djurbanski 0 #1 August 31, 2006 A big thank you goes out to George Galloway, Beverly and Crew of Precision Aerodynamics. George helped me identify and resolve opening issues I was having with my old canopy. Seems I was underloading it a bit. So George offered to trade me a new canopy for cost of upgrading from a Xaos - 21 135 to the Xaos 27 - 108. This is one awesome canopy, as the turns are quick, front riser pressure perfect for my weight, and the swoops are amazingly long. The openings are very reasonable being a camera man. Not for the faint of heart though as you should load it atleast at 2.1 and not less than 500 jumps. If your looking for one awesome canopy, Xaos - 27 is the answer. I'm a Precision customer and Xaos pilot for life! Thanks again George and Crew.
imdskydiver 0 #2 August 31, 2006 Please tell George that "my" Xaos 21 98 is opening somewhat hard these days and see if a smaller Xaos 27 might be a better fit , while your at it see if you can work out the same kind of deal for me !
deathtrap 0 #3 September 1, 2006 Hey, Glad you were taken care of, always good when you are matched up with the right canopy for you. On the flip side, you not only went to a smaller canopy (completely different) but you also changed canopies. So really, you bought a canopy that wasn't right for you, or was a junk canopy from the start, and you got good customer service. nothing above and beyond there, every company should do that, I'm sure PD and Icarus would have done the same thing. Not to mention, do you honestly feel that someone with say 500, 600 or 700 jumps should be loading their x-braced canopy at 2.1-1, I personally don't know anyone with that few jumps who has any business under that canopy at that loading. Anyway glad you were taken care of but it sounds like you bought a lemon from the start and they didn't want that canopy out there....

If they made a Stellar 135, which they don’t, loading it at 1.52 would give an exit weight of 205 pounds. A Stellar 140, which they do make, has a maximum exit weight of 168 pounds for a loading of 1.2. A loading of 1.52 is almost 20% over what the maker of the canopy says in smart. While I agree with you that djurbanski is playing a dangerous game with his choice of canopies, I personally don’t know anyone that has any business under a reserve canopy at that loading. Just something to think about. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
