ACMESkydiver 0 #1 May 14, 2007 Of the vacations you've taken, which was your favorite? Why? I feel like such a dork but those 4 days in Manhattan just blew my mind. I really think I might have enjoyed that trip better than the Bahamas cruise my hubby surprised me with; and that was pretty damn cool! I just loved that city. So much fun!! So much to do! It's so different than lil' ol' Seattle that I grew up in! Our honeymoon in Jamaica I think was really the best -but then again, sheesh that was 13 years ago and NY was just last week so who really remembers for sure! I guess that's it then. It's a tie between Jamaica and NYC. How 'bout you? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
PikzeeVikzen 0 #2 May 14, 2007 I've only ever been on 1 vacation and it rained the entire time. Hell, I didnt even get a honeymoon. So, I'll have to go with the mini vacation I got during my 80 (yes 80) seconds of freefall Friday. I'm the twist that turns your key....

Darius11 12 #5 May 14, 2007 The Caymen Islands. Every thing went perfect. It was like the opposite of Murphy law. The water is beautiful the diving and snorkeling was amazing. I really didn’t want to come back, and if I ever get filthy rich I know where I will be moving too.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Phillbo 11 #8 May 14, 2007 I chartered a 46' Sailboat out of Tortola for 2 weeks of chillin' in the islands with 5 close friends. I've yet to be able to top that one so we are planning another in the next couple years.
guppie01 0 #9 May 14, 2007 2 1/2 weeks cruising New Zealand.... I rented a camper van and it was so wonderful being able to do and see whatever / whenever I wanted. I didn't have to worry about tour groups, or time frames - I'd just get in the camper van and drive... Of course I had a bit of a plan going in - I knew what I wanted to do, but had enough flexibility if something caught my eye, or if I wanted to detour a bit. The best part.... Skydive Auckland also doubles (not sure if it still does) as a flight school, and I didn't plan ahead to fly to the Southern Isle, so the instructor, students (who needed the airtime) and I split the cost of the fuel and I had a 3 day private guided tour of the So. Island. It was so amazing being able to fly into remote areas, orbit volcanoes, orbit whales, swoop the canyon mountains.... What an incredible time. I did not want to come back to the states. g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" Raddest Ho this side of Jersey #1 - MISS YOU OMG, is she okay? BillyVance 34 #17 May 14, 2007 A week on Maui for the honeymoon. We did not want to fly back home. It would take at least 3 weeks to a month to see everything and do everything there is to do on Maui. We did the helicopter tour, the world's longest downhill bike ride, swimming in the 7 pools, the drive to Hana, spied the twin peaks of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea 40+ miles away from the 10,000+ ft peak of Hileakala, visited a canyon with 2000+ ft sheer mountain walls where legend had the locals and their king fighting to the death the invaders. We've been wanting to go back ever since. There just isn't the money to do it. That's kinda how we did these 4 days in NYC. We knew we wanted to hit a few things, but the only scheduled thing was the baseball game. Everything else was at our leisure...and it was SO nice not to stress! I hadn't ever really done that before, so I really thought the flexibility and 'relaxed' feel of it was cool. I can't imagine how nice that would be for 2 1/2 weeks in New Zealand! Quote The best part.... guppie01 0 #20 May 14, 2007 Quote I really thought the flexibility and 'relaxed' feel of it was cool. Yeah, I'm normally the TOTAL planner.... NZ went so well that I did the same thing for my trip to Ireland - 10 days tooling around.... met some incredible people, saw some of the most spectacular sights and LOVED every moment of it. Last year when we did China it was more of a fixed schedule, and I was so stressed out after the trip I hated it. Although seeing Chairman Mao embalmed and encased in a glass tomb was interesting! g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" guppie01 0 #22 May 14, 2007 Quote You're quite the world traveler!! Some day I hope to see half the places g has visited... Nah.... I think there is a thread on here... total number of places you have visited/traveled (along those lines). There are WAY more people on here that have visited so many interesting places. I wish I had the money and time to do half of those places. Living overseas helped a great deal.... but since I've been back to the states it has slowed dramatically. g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" ACMESkydiver 0 #23 May 14, 2007 Quote Seven days visiting the New England states by myself. I don't think I've ever 'vacationed' by myself. I think it would be interesting, but I'm such an introvert I prolly wouldn't have as much fun without someone kinda pulling me out of my shell. How did you like it? I love doing things like shopping and going to the salon by myself...I don't have to worry about what everyone else wants to do. Is that kinda like what you found on vacation?~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
