willard 0 #5 May 14, 2007 That would make things shrivel in a hurry. A friend of my grandfather died many years ago when he failed to pull his P-51 Mustang out of a loop high enough and slammed the ground at an airshow.

Gawain 0 #7 May 14, 2007 I wonder what the pilot was yelling out while in the cockpit! Something like a long, "oooohhhhhhh shhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttt!!!!!!!" WOW!!!! So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! crum 0 #8 May 14, 2007 luck! I think he used up all his good luck on that move....hey ya notice on the soundtrack how the MC stops talking while he goes low like he's watching thinkin' "oh shit!" then picks up right where he left off after the pilot pulls it off........ too close for comfort. ******Today is one day too late.********

I caught that, too. The MC clearly expects the dude to bottom out. It looks like if he had one of those 3" transponder antennas on the bottom of the fuselage, he would have bent it. In March, we had a L-39 jet do something similar at our local airshow ...except for the staying in the air part. It produced quite a large explosion._____________________________________ Dude, you are so awesome... Can I be on your ash jump ?
ryoder 1,590 #10 May 14, 2007 First time I've ever seen a loop that utilized ground effect.Perhaps the pilot also had a contract to cut the grass.
