Cell Phone Opinions

I'm looking for input on the different brands/ types of cell phones out there. Its almost time for me to upgrade, and I'm looking into what my options are, and whether its worth it to pay a little bit more for a Motorola or go with something else.

I like the bells and whistles- camera, games, MP3 quality ring tones, etc., but I guess I don't really need them. And I haven't mastered text messaging! I prefer the flip phones- easeir to use, easier to hear, and harder to turn on accidently!

Does anyone have any opinions on Samsung or LG phones- good or bad?

Honestly, I'm not one of those people constantly on the phone. But, I drive 45 minutes each way to and from work, and I like having my phone when I spend weekends at the dz, that kind of thing. Its a convenience that I've gotten very used to. Plus, I use it for pretty much all my long distance calls. I want something reliable, with decent reception and sound quality. Not all cell phones are created equal, right?

I have a Samsung Blade with Sprint and like it. I tried a Verizon Razr and the quality was great but it wasn't as user friendly. Aside from the StarTac of long ago, everything else I've had sucked. Sanyo in particular.

Well, both Samsung's that I had were not reliable: poor reception, the camera function came on too easily and constantly took pictures of the inside of my purse (that annoyed the hell out of me). I've had multiple episodes of not being abe to get a signal for 24-48hrs. (T-mobile swears that it wasn't them)...so I got a new phone.

Like you, I'm not a text-y person, don't really need the camera either, but every person I know who has the Motorola Razr is happy with it. And, so far, I've had none of the aforementioned problems. It's a flip, but a little bigger than my previous ones, so it doesn't get lost in my purse as easily though the overall profile is thinner (as the name implies).

Plus, it's cute! (not usually a criteria for phones with me, but this phone appealed to me for some reason). It's the Miami Ink edition - hot pink case with cherry blossoms etched in - reliable and fun!

although i like my sony ericcson i have to say that the joystick isnt p to much still....had mine for approx 6mnths and its gone dicky already...takes extra power to get it to do what u want which isn good for your fingers or good for playing games...but im on contract and will get a new phone soon so it doesnt matter....otherwise stay clear if your on p&g

Motorola hasn't made a good phone since the StarTac series. Bad build quality, horrible OS and address book.

A middle of the range Nokia would work nicely. In my experience, Motorolas are a pain.

i like my tmobile "plum" phone?

I told the tech support guy to just sent me a phone that makes calls and can text. Although it came with a camera thing that i do use, its pretty cool. i included a pic.

I'm pretty well satisfied with my Moto PEBL. Good loud ringer and it has voice command - no more recording name tags for the people in my phone book.
