As for Mullin's King Air, I'm happy I never had to ride it down. My wife however, she was only an acquaintance at the time, rode it as an observer the day before she did her first tandem. The ride down hurt her ears enough that she had a little blood coming out of one ear, and a bad headache. To this day I'm still amazed that she still showed up the next day to do the tandem. I guess she didn't want to show me that she was a wussy!
