grue 1 #1 May 1, 2007 For me, mayo goes in the fridge. Ketchup, mustard, and butter don't. Butter gets covered, it's just that it's easier to spread at room temperature. Or rather to be more accurate I keep one chunk at room temperature for easy access, and the rest is in teh fridge until the room temperature chunk is nearly depleted. So how about you guys?cavete terrae.
BillyVance 34 #2 May 1, 2007 It all goes in the fridge. We don't use it often so it lasts longer."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
FlyingJ 0 #3 May 1, 2007 What about chocolate syrup, like Hershey's for ice cream? Growing up and for most of my adult life it stayed in a cabinet somewhere. Only happened to notice a year or two ago that it says "refrigerate after opening." I stopped eating ice cream about 6 months ago (because I'm not capable of moderation when it comes to ice cream) so it's not currently an issue, but it is one that perplexed me for some time.Killing threads since 2004. NWFlyer 2 #5 May 1, 2007 Mom put it in the fridge. So I developed a taste for it cold. Same goes for peanut butter (of course, now I buy Adams Natural PB, so I refrigerate to avoid having to remix the oil slick every time I want a knife full of peanut butter)."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. I don't use butter, and ketchup stays in the fridge because I too developed a taste for it cold, but I also don't use it often enough for it to stay good sitting out.Killing threads since 2004. Shell666 0 #9 May 1, 2007 Ketchup, mayo, mustard and butter go in the fridge. The last time I left butter out to "soften" in a Ziploc container, with a sealed lid, I came back to a clean counter with no Ziploc container. I thought I hadn't left the butter out. I thought I was crazy (comments are not necessary at this point). About a week later, I was cleaning my living room and I moved the couch to vacuum. Found an empty (and very CLEAN) Ziploc container. Also found a LID for said container with teeth marks in it. My dear sweet dog ate the butter. It's in the fridge from then on. 'Shell

Squeak 17 #21 May 1, 2007 Apparently Tomato sauce (ketchup) does not need to be refridgerated at all, the makers suggest it because some study determined that you are more likey to see it and use it (therefore buy more of it) if it's in the fridge, compared to the pantryYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS!
