How Do I Download a Video From YouTube?!?

Recommended Posts

Anyone? I wanted to include some airborne jump footage into the video I'm doing for Joe's ETS party on Saturday but I can't figure out how to download a video from YouTube. Is that not allowed or something? [:/]

The short answer is, you don't.

The long answer is, do you use Firefox?

What's Firefox?

Use Firefox with the VideoDownloader extension.

Ok I'll check into that...next question -HOW DO I TRANSFER FROM A VHS TAPE TO MY COMPUTER?!

I need to make it into a disc thingy and then I can play it on my computer...who makes VHS into DVD? Anyone?

I'll search for it but does anyone know what store might do that off the top of your head?

You can only do that if you have a video card that has a tv tuner.

If you take it to a store, they'll rip you a new bung hole on top of your forehead. Your best bet is to ask one of the camera dudes in your DZ. Give 'em a free jump ticket or a pack job or two. I'm sure they'd be happy to do it for you. The quality from VHS to DVD will be comprimised big time! Don't expect DVD quality.

What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

I had a VHS transferred to DVD (disk thingy) by a guy whose video production studio is on my street.
He charges $25, plus $10 per additional copy. Look in your yellow pages under video.

There are many ways, especially since most laptops now come with a firewire port. If you have one on your laptop and know a single videographer then you're halfway there.

Good idea, but my DZ is an hour away and there's no way I've got time for that right now! :P

Kits Cameras will do it for $29.95 for 2 hours worth. That'll do. -Pricey, but I gotta get this done asap!!
