A guy on another forum is claiming he's doing a night jump tonight for his first jump

:D

"So I'm going skydiving tonight, quarter mile out from the beach, 12,000ft.

At night.

For the first time, ever.

Solo."

a few posts later:

"Well I'm jumping with a certified instructor, but he's my best friend, and completely nuts. He's going tandem with a chick."

On the one hand, these sort of things usually make me laugh. On the other hand, you always wonder in the back of your mind "What if?"

How is that possible? Does he mean his first licensed jump? Even then though.... yikes

No, he's claiming first jump ever. I'm 99% sure he's bullshitting. As soon as I showed up in the thread and started asking questions, he stopped replying :D

seems like a silly thing to claim knowing you'd leave it open to tons of experienced jumpers...... However, I do know a tandem instructor who did a night tandem awhile back... this was before I'd started my training and I just kinda thought ... "oh awesome!" But now.... holy moley :o What kinds of repercussions can happen b/c of something like that? I don't mean injuries... could the instructor get his license taken away?
Into the great wide open/ under them skies of blue/ out in the great wide open/ a rebel w/out a clue.....

Fuck me if I'm wrong, but don't you need to hold a B license or at least have the qualifications of B license holder? Or, am I wrong? :S

I remember having some guy bull shit me once about jumping too. It's really cool to play along with them. It's really funny when they can't remember what kind of gear they have, and don't even know what a container is. You ask, and they pause for a moment, and they say "i can't remember, but i need new toggles"

Just ask if they are jumping with a double ended strap on deployment device... lol or once he claims to finish the jump if he had a slider down malfunction

I once met a guy who claimed on his 5th static line jump that they connected a stileto 135. And he jumped that for his final static line. I was jealous, my progression to a stilletto 150 took nearly 600 jumps and here a guy my same size was able to do it in 5.
