Tomorrow My Life Will Change

Recommended Posts

I'll allow myself to listen to the news now and then. As of tomorrow, what I hear on the news is not going to make me sick from worry of whether I'll be raising 3 special needs kids on my own for better than a year...

Tomorrow ends a phase in our lives. Our family comes before other familes tomorrow. Up until tomorrow, my husband might have lost his life protecting people that I may never meet...on 25 April, our family begins our time together, undivided... B|

...and when that DD214 comes in the mail with 'Honorably Discharged' across it, I'm going to frame that sucker and hang it on the wall.

I am so excited! I am so proud of Joe. I am SO READY FOR TOMORROW!!

:)
The day I ETS'd I was a little sad, but that was it. I only served 3 years, and most of it here in WA. No deploys; non-deploayable unit. We were at risk of being bored to death. :|

So those of you that are out...what was your 'day' like? :)

Mine fell smack dab in the middle of a deployment-induced divorce, and it got incredibly, ridiculously, absurdly drunk out that night. Congrats and big thanks to both of you. ;)

No no sweetie...Joe's not deployed. He's just getting out of the army for all eternity today! No more risk of recall...no more resevre drills, no more training deployments, no IRR (Inactive Ready Reserve), no more risk of sudden deployment...he's done, baby. B|

Relish in the day. Celebrate it to the hilt. Enjoy every minute of it from here on out! You and your family deserve it!!

Each man and woman has to make their own choices to make their lives right...I know if it weren't for me and the kids, Joe would be in the army until he dropped dead. This is kind of a sad thing for him that he isn't the country's protector any more...but he had to make the choice that was right for our circumstances, and your hubby made a choice for your circumstances. :)
Sorry to hear that you have to continue on with the game, but it takes courage on both sides; to stay in and face the war for all of us, or to get out and improve your family's potential.

I'll be honest, sometimes I wish I had had the option of not leaving the service. It was such a part of me and I loved it, but I'm now an Ops sergeant of another type...I run this house and these babies, and I'm pretty dang good at it if I do say so myself. B|
