Actually, she wasn't psycho. We're still friends and she has shown the utmost in respect for my wife.

The tattoo wasn't very big - a couple of inches. Small enough to be really cute.

2. Even if I did, I'm not going to waste my time looking for who originally said it, because I'm not turning in a doctoral thesis… I'm making a point on an internet forum. As for my opinion? Yes, it's the only one that matters, and it's the correct one to me. I couldn't possibly give a shit what other people think of tattoos, because I'm not using their taste to determine what I think of people. Some people have a fetish for women who smoke, whereas I wouldn't date one for any reason. Some people like women with tattoos, the only reason they get a second look from me is because a tattoo means there's a reasonable chance she's the kind of woman who will do something impulsive because she thinks it'll be fun, and doesn't worry about regretting it later. The ancillary benefits of associating with a woman who has such a mindset are quite obvious.

So anyway, if you don't like me not "giving due credit", tough. If I happen to know that I'm quoting someone "famous" in a context where I'm not being graded or paid, and I know who that person is, I might give credit, but then again, I might not. If that person (or any person really) doesn't like that, he or she is more than welcome to come find me and file a grievance in my complaint box, which also happens to be the trash bin outside of my home.

The post was originally soliciting for opinions on ass tattoos. I gave my opinion, and I will not recant it for anyone.

Of course, I don't have a problem with what people think about tattoos, each is entitled to their own opinion after all. However, you can't say that the only reason someone gets ink does is purely to be noticed, per se. Yes, if I walk down the beach next to you, me covered in tattoos while you have none, I will probably be noticed from more people than you. But that doesn't mean that the only reason you get a tattoo is so that people will look at you, it says that you are happy changing, drastically perhaps, the way you look.
Tattoos should be considered as something you get for life, so they shouldn't be done on an impulse, rather they should represent what you believe is beauty and art.
Anyway, even if the woman in your example does things impulsively, what's so bad about it? What kind of god awful trends are you implying she caries with her?

God, I always love when people jump to those kinds of conclusions.

My 1st tat - celebration of me, my freedom, and my divorce
My 2nd/3rd tat - celebration of life (finished tat 1 and added tat 2)
My 4th tat - celebration of life and happiness
My 5th tat - permanent memorial of my daughter

All of my tats were well thought out and planned, and each took between 6 months and 1 year to decide what/where. For example, it took me a year to get my first tat because once it was on my body, it was there for life.

Impulsive had nothing to do with it - nor with any of my friends that have gotten tats. Each individual (that I know) has had a meaning behind the tat(s) they have chosen to add to their body.

Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

I was a sophomore in college and still a virgin when I got my second. Only one can you see when I'm in a teeney bikini.

Both are small, but I actually got inked three times--the second was really impulsive. I went with a group of girlfriends that always wanted one and ended up picking something very small off the wall (how original) and getting it somewhere I thought would be cute. Later, I decided to make it original and went back and added little wings (for skydiving, flight in general, freedom, being in love with Billy, etc.)

Of course, I got both before I was 20 years old...and if I had none now that I'm 26, I don't think I'd still be interested in getting one. I don't regret them, but would definitely recommend waiting until you're in your mid or late 20s.
What is kinda cool, is that though I've certainly changed since my teens, the tats I drew & had inked on myself then are still very much representative of me and the things I still love/admire now.
