skytash 0 #1 April 13, 2007 so, I moved house a while ago and in the process managed to loose one of the parts of my bed. I'd have called it a screw (no pun intended ). I thought my rigger may know where to get various metal bits from, so I took him one of the other ones to see if he could help. Not only did he tell me that it was a threaded bolt (no pointy end to make it a screw!), but within a week, his son had made me 3 spares . So now my bed is fully assembled and sturdy enough in case someone ends up joining me in my bed thanks Rick and Phil! tashDon't ever save anything for a special occasion. Slappie 9 #6 April 13, 2007 Quote I had a total chris rock moment when i read your thread title Oh me too! I was afraid Al Sharpton was going to complain or get on TV and rant about being held down by the white man. As for the bolt... I'm very curious, why did he make them? I know it was asked in the thread once, I've just got to ask again. There are no hardware stores where you live? You can't just pop down and purchase a handful of nuts & bolts? I can tell you're probably not in/from the states, just by by your syntax. But, you've got to live in a civilized part of the world. You've got Internet access. So what's up with making bolts for your bed? "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." skytash 0 #10 April 13, 2007 the hardware stores 'round here that do more than just the stuff that comes pre-packed (and therefore can't be checked whether it fits or not) are only open while I'm at work on the DZ. I had the nut to fit it on which has an attachment to fix it into the round indentation in the inside of the side of the bed and the other end of the bold needed to go into a threaded hole that is in the end of the bed. So, getting something with the right diameter and thread was the most important thing, which the hardware stores that are open when I have the time to go them couldn't deliver. and I'm a girl - I'm allowed to ask a man to help me with things, especially bed related ones tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion.
